Working Principle
The principle of the AC ammeter is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, ‌ measures the strength of the current by measuring the interaction between the magnetic field generated by the current in the wire and the coil in the ammeter. ‌ When a current passes through a conductor, ‌ generates a magnetic field, and the strength of the ‌ magnetic field is proportional to the current. ‌ by means of this principle, the AC ammeter ‌ compares the magnetic field generated by the conductor coil with the reference current, ‌ to get the current. ‌ The conductor coil of an digital ammeter usually consists of several turns of conductor, ‌ made of a closed solenoid. ‌ When an electric current passes through the coil, ‌ creates a magnetic field around the coil. ‌ To measure the current, the ‌ ammeter is also equipped with a movable magnetic needle. ‌ When a current passes through the conductor coil, the magnetic field generated by the ‌ conductor coil will interact with the magnetic field of the magnetic needle and deflect the magnetic needle ‌. ‌ The Angle of deflection of the magnetic needle is proportional to the magnitude of the current. ‌ So that the Angle of deflection of the magnetic needle can be observed, the ‌ ammeter will set a dial in front of the magnetic needle. ‌ When the magnetic needle is deflected, ‌ can read the value of the current by the scale on the dial. ‌ In order to improve the sensitivity of the ammeter, ‌ is usually equipped with a stable magnetic field, ‌ is used to interact with the magnetic field generated by the conductor coil, ‌ so that the deflection Angle of the magnetic needle will be larger and the current size ‌ can be measured more accurately. ‌
